Violin by Danio Wu
This specially commissioned violin by master maker Danio Wu is extraordinary. The pattern used is Joseph Guarneri ‘del Gesu’ 1735. Its tonewood is master grade from Italy, the fine ebony fittings are from Italy as well, and it has been professionally set up using Evah Pirazzi strings with the gold-plated E. The Despiau bridge is a three-tree Superieur. The handwork is exceptional throughout. Varnish is in the old traditional style of the Cremonese masters. It greatly enhances the deep natural figuring of the two-piece maple back.
